Dental Implants

What is a Dental Implant?
Dental implants are a reliable way of replacing missing teeth. They consist of a titanium base upon which a tooth coloured crown can be attached. One or more teeth may be replaced by dental implants.

How is the procedure performed?
Dental implants are usually placed painlessly in the dental chair during a regular dental appointment. Alternatively, implant treatment can be performed in a day hospital under general anaesthetic. Dr  Ladakis operates regularly at an inner Melbourne private hospital.

Treatment Duration
Depending on the procedure, patients usually need a few days rest after the surgical placement of an implant. Following this, 2-3 months of healing are usually required before the final tooth is placed over the top.

What is the cost involved for a Dental Implant?
A consultation from Dr Ladakis is first required to assess your circumstances. The cost for a consultation is AUD $125 and appointments can be made by calling (03) 9654 2919.
